Well, it’s really hard to say. My first knee jerk reaction would be to think that if he truly cared for you he would find the time to be with you no matter how difficult.
I don’t like the fact that he kind of set you up for the fall. He seems like he had a plan to phase out the relationship, too suspicious. You said that after 2 months or so, he started becoming distant, not spending time with you, and fewer phone calls. Then he became even more distant, not a good sign i’m sorry to say.
He might be telling the truth about his financial problems, and has to work 2 jobs, but i’m not sure he was completely honest with you. If he didn’t become distant over the last few months I would be more inclined to believe him. Showing less ad less interest is usually the most telling sign that things are fizzling out.
I don’t think it was anything that you did, sometimes relationships are not meant to last, it can be that simple. Nothing you could have done any different. Don’t blame yourself you will be fine. Staying busy is the key to moving forward. Surround yourself with family and friends, and try not to worry.
I hate the long ones….Move one. Does it even matter. How about you ask only he could tell you the Truth
